About Natalie Chaykin Pierce

As a licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. Chaykin provides evidence-based treatments to adults struggling with eating disorders, body image concerns, chronic pain/illness, stress management, life transitions, anxiety, OCD, depression, and insomnia. She enjoys guiding clients in various self-regulation and relaxation strategies to manage mental and physical well-being. Her MBA coursework and experience allows her to take a coaching approach with clients to help navigate their academic or professional careers. Her treatment style helps clients to manage stress, transition after an injury or disease, and cope with pain, loss, and feeling “stuck.”

Dr. Chaykin practices primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and positive psychology perspectives through a health psychology lens with elements of dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). She is also board certified in biofeedback and can thus weave mindfulness-based interventions into treatment. Dr. Chaykin received training on and has educational and clinical experiences in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), executive coaching, and health coaching. She can also provide psycho-education about stress physiology, how stress and emotions interact with chronic pain, and how specific mindfulness and relaxation techniques can help.

Using a non-judgmental, collaborative, and flexible approach, Dr. Chaykin tailors her treatment modality and style based on her clients’ needs and preferences, while appreciating the many diversity dimensions that her clients face. Her calming, supportive, and empathic style helps clients feel comfortable and open to being vulnerable and empowered to build insight and make changes to patterns that no longer serve their physical and mental health. With her experience working in private practices, schools, and large multidisciplinary medical and psychiatric facilities, Dr. Chaykin is open to collaboration with other treatment providers to holistically treat her clients. Dr. Chaykin is passionate about helping her clients understand their unique mind-body connections in order to work towards living fulfilling and meaningful lives.

Dr. Chaykin received her PsyD and her MBA from Widener University’s Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology. She received her B.S. in Psychology: Biological and Evolutionary Sciences from Penn State University. Through her Widener coursework and internship clinical experiences, Dr. Chaykin became board certified in biofeedback by the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance.
