About Ted Worm

Dr. Worm provides evidence-based, client-centered therapy focusing on treatment for anxiety, eating disorders, insomnia, and concerns related to life transitions and identity (gender, sexuality, ethnicity, race). He additionally works with clients managing depression and interpersonal conflicts.

Dr. Worm believes in collaborating with his clients to develop a treatment plan that fits their individual needs. In his work, he utilizes both Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to support clients in discerning how their present experience aligns with their goals and values. In a warm and engaging environment, clients develop new skills, such as mindfulness and self-care, allowing them to be more present and reflect on their life experience. Furthermore, Dr. Worm assists clients in exploring their intersecting identities and the role different familial, societal and organizational systems play in their lives.

In addition, Dr. Worm offers brief treatment modalities such as academic coaching to manage test anxiety and career counseling to improve workplace experience. Dr. Worm is trained in psychoeducational assessment to provide a differential diagnosis, such as for ADHD and learning disabilities.

Dr. Worm received his Ph.D. specializing in Counseling Psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. He earned his B.A. in Psychology and History from Georgetown University.

During his doctoral training, Dr. Worm worked at the following sites:

  • George Washington University - Colonial Health Center
  • University of Chicago - Student Counseling Service
  • University of Chicago Medical Center – Neuropsychology Service
  • University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign – Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES)
