Young Adults
Navigating the challenges of young adulthood can be overwhelming. It’s also a time in which mental health illnesses emerge for the first time. From academic pressures to relationship issues and career uncertainty, it’s not uncommon to experience feelings of stress, anxiety, or depression. At Mind Body Health, we understand that seeking help for mental health concerns can be a big step, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
About
Young adults are often going to college for the first time, gaining independence, looking for their first job, moving to a new city, learning more about their identities, sexuality, and/or trying to start making friends.
We like to address the importance of daily functioning, good sleep, and nutrition. But, we also like to dig a little deeper to help clients understand what’s most important to them in this phase of life, how to confront what might be scary, and live more confidently in line with their values and what they want for their futures.
These major life transitions can create inner turmoil and if not addressed directly can lead to problematic mental health concerns such as:
- Sadness & loneliness
- Depression, anxiety, and stress
- Substance abuse/dependence
- Eating disorder symptoms
- Academic stress
- Career Uncertainty
- Trauma & PTSD
- Self-Esteem Issues
