Dr. Seibert is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with training in several areas of psychology including addiction, depression, anxiety disorders, suicidology, PTSD and other trauma-related problems, LGBTQ+, chronic pain, and adjusting from other medical and life changes.
Dr. Seibert also now offers gender affirming treatment evaluations. She has over six years of experience working with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and gender non-binary populations. As a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) Standards of Care, Dr. Seibert uses the WPATH Standards of Care as a flexible guideline in her approach to working with transgender and gender non-binary individuals. Her referral letters follow the WPATH guidelines.
Dr. Seibert has served as a clinician within the Department of Veterans Affairs as well as completed research in the area of mindfulness for co-occurring chronic pain and substance use disorders. These experiences have helped her value the process of integrating scientific research into the therapy room. Dr. Seibert tailors evidence-based treatments to provide individualized care to her clients.
Dr. Seibert primarily uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills, mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) in her treatment with clients. She particularly enjoys using ACT and motivational interviewing in helping clients define a values-based life and determining strategies to live toward a meaningful life. She believes that how individuals respond to internal stimuli (e.g., emotions, sensations in the body, and thoughts) can serve as barriers to living a life one desires. She uses therapy as a pathway to identify these barriers, develop skills to work through them, and provide compassionate support along the way to increase self-compassion and self-love.
Dr. Seibert strives to create a supportive, warm, and safe space for her clients to explore their emotional discomfort and struggles, so that they may learn how to make long lasting changes.
Dr. Seibert received her Doctorate of Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She completed an APA-accredited internship at the Bruce W. Carter Miami VA Medical Center, where she completed training rotations in PTSD, Military Sexual Trauma (MST), Substance Use Disorders, Serious Mental Illness, as well as HIV and other infectious diseases. In addition, she has completed training with the founder of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Steven C. Hayes. She has worked at the following sites:
