Dr. Doshi is a clinical psychologist with unique training in both eating disorders and weight management. She additionally provides evidence-based treatment for commonly comorbid disorders such as insomnia, anxiety and depression.
Dr. Doshi has served as a clinician on several NIH-grant funded trials testing innovative approaches to the treatment of eating disorders and weight management. These experiences have helped her value the process of integrating research into the therapy room. Dr. Doshi tailors scientific research and evidence-based treatments to provide individualized care to her patients.
Dr. Doshi primarily uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in her treatment with clients. She particularly enjoys using ACT in helping clients understand where issues of avoidance of emotional distress might be creating mental health struggles and/or physical ailments. She enjoys helping clients clarify their values to help them build motivation and live a more meaningful life.
Dr. Doshi believes in providing patients with the tools they need to engage in long lasting behavior change. She strives to create a warm, inviting, and safe space for her clients to explore their struggles and learn how to make long lasting changes.
Dr. Doshi received her Ph.D. from Drexel University and completed her internship at Duke University Medical Center. She has worked at the following sites:
