Dr. Farmand is a licensed clinical psychologist. She has trained and worked in multiple outpatient settings, including schools, universities, and community mental health centers. She has conducted individual, group, and couples therapy with adolescents and adults. Most recently, Dr. Farmand worked for the University of Florida Employee Assistance Program in Gainesville, Florida. Dr. Farmand utilizes an integrative approach with an interpersonal base, coupled with techniques from various treatment modalities, as clinically indicated. These modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Positive Psychology. She works collaboratively with her clients to create an individualized treatment plan, which depends on the client’s presenting problem and therapeutic goals. Dr. Farmand strives to create a safe, warm, empathic environment where clients can work through emotional challenges they face.
Dr. Farmand received her B.A. in Psychology from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She received her M.A. and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from The American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University in Washington DC. She completed an APA-Accredited internship at The Catholic University of America Counseling Center in Washington DC. She also completed a post-doctoral fellowship at The New College of Florida Counseling and Wellness Center in Sarasota, Florida.
