She completed her postdoctoral residency at the Warm Springs Counseling Center and Training Institute in Boise, Idaho.
Since 2000, Dr. Zauel has worked within a variety of settings (outpatient private practice, residential treatment, and college counseling center) providing individual, family and group psychotherapy to adolescents and adults. In addition to direct service with clients, Dr. Zauel has also been committed to assisting and supporting new professionals in the field of psychology. She provides ongoing supervision and mentorship to multiple pre-doctoral externs and interns each year, as well as leading seminars for psychology graduate students on ACT principles and treatment of clients with body image or eating disorder concerns.
Dr. Zauel was previously a staff psychologist at the Counseling Center at the Catholic University of America. She provided psychotherapy to students with a variety of mental health concerns, led psychotherapy groups focused on Mindfulness and body positivity, and served on the Eating Assessment Team within the University.
