Dr. Stephanie Seibert has a passion for providing a safe and accepting environment for those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning, intersex, or asexual. Though there may be increasing acceptance of various sexual minority groups, there is still some unique struggles that individuals are facing including and not limited to discrimination, bullying, teasing, anxiety and depression. Feeling oppressed and treated unfairly can, unfortunately, be a common experience for LGBTQ+ individuals and this can lead to many forms of psychological distress on top of day-to-day life stressors.
Dr. Seibert is especially familiar with working with LGBTQ+ individuals given her past work experiences. She has helped LGBTQ+ clients gain clarity and calm when they felt anxious or confused about their sexual identity. She has also has had training in working with LGBTQ+ couples on regular relationship struggles and also when one partner isn’t on the same page as the other in regards to coming out to family and friends. Lastly, Dr. Seibert has worked with adolescents and adults undergoing gender transitions by helping them cope with the various stages of transition as well as emotions experienced along the way.
