Joanna is a Registered Dietitian with a strong background in disordered and emotional eating, metabolic health, and nutrition and mental health. She received her Master’s in Nutrition Science degree from the University of Cincinnati before completing her dietetic training at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center in Richmond, VA.
She’s worked as both an outpatient and virtual nutrition therapist and provided support for a wide variety of conditions. She has also worked in sub-acute care and helped build nutrition programs for gyms and rec centers. She holds certifications in diabetes education, health coaching, and personal training as well as certificates in training in vegetarian nutrition and integrative and functional nutrition.
Joanna approach is holistic, and her counseling utilizes intuitive eating and Health at Every Size to help connect us with our natural hunger and find a comfortable and satisfying relationship with food. She believes in the power of self-care and proper nutrition to help restore our emotional and cognitive balance.
